Economics for Climate Action

As the world gathers in Belém for COP30, Conservation Strategy Fund is bringing economics to the center of the climate conversation.

With our delegation led by Julia Queiroz, CSF Brazil Director, and Natalia Sanin Acevedo, Director of the Numbers for Nature Training Institute, CSF will showcase how economics can serve as the bridge between economic progress and climate resilience. From quantifying the value of forests, wetlands, and coasts to designing innovative finance mechanisms and training thousands of global leaders, we demonstrate that protecting nature is not only a moral imperative but also the smartest investment for people, economies, and the planet. Our presence in the Amazon—ground zero for both biodiversity and climate action—underscores the urgency and opportunity of using sound economics to turn global pledges into lasting solutions. Our work ensures that nature is represented in decision-making at every level — from local communities to global frameworks.

"CSF's qualified team can produce the hard numbers that make the case for investing in conservation. This has proven to be an important way to generate buy-in from government ministries that tend to focus primarily on economic considerations."
